Challenge:
Phase 2 of the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) programme, overseen by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and Change Mental Health, required a coordinated, inclusive approach to develop national guidance and support local implementation.Solution:
Appointed as Co-Chair of the EIP Expert Reference Group (2023–2024), I facilitated collaboration across health and social care, the Scottish Government, academia, and individuals with lived experience. I ensured the group remained grounded in real-world insights by maintaining a strong partnership with Change Mental Health, enabling direct input from those with lived experience.Outcome:
The group successfully developed a comprehensive guide to support the design and implementation of EIP services across Scotland. The guide reflects a multidisciplinary perspective and centres the voices of those with lived experience. -
Challenge:
The Mobility and Access Committee for Scotland (MACS) needed to strengthen its Policy, Strategy and Engagement workstream to ensure that the voices of disabled people and Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) were meaningfully reflected in policy development and scrutiny. The challenge was to bridge complex policy processes with accessible, inclusive engagement.Solution:
Appointed in 2023, I took on a leadership role within the Policy, Strategy and Engagement workstream. Leveraging my skills in inclusive communication and stakeholder engagement, I:Simplified and communicated key elements of the proposed Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill using creative visual tools to make complex content accessible.
Developed a strategic engagement plan focused on building authentic relationships with DPOs through tailored outreach, events, and collaborative discussions.
Provided constructive challenge in MACS Board meetings, contributing thoughtful insights in a respectful and approachable manner.
Outcome:
My work has enhanced MACS’ ability to engage effectively with DPOs and increased the accessibility and impact of its policy contributions. The approach has strengthened MACS’ relationships across the sector and improved representation of lived experience in policy discussions. -

The construction sector can be a difficult environment for progressing equalities conversations, particularly in engaging site supervisors who may be unfamiliar or resistant to such topics. BCTG Construct required a compelling and accessible e-learning module to address this gap.Solution
I designed an equalities-focused e-learning module specifically tailored for construction site supervisors, using a relatable tone and clear messaging to engage the audience effectively. I created supporting video content that humanised the subject and reinforced key points in an approachable manner.Outcome
The training was well received, leading to increased awareness of equalities issues within the sector. My expertise was recognised with an invitation to join the National Construction Advisory Board, and I continue to serve as an ambassador for women in STEM. -

Families of neurodivergent children often face fragmented support, long waiting lists, and overstretched services, making it difficult to access timely, coordinated care. Health and social care professionals need more integrated and inclusive approaches to address these gaps.Solution
I was invited to speak at a 3D Drumchapel community event, bringing together professionals, families, and support services to explore how to create more neuro-inclusive systems. Drawing on my experience in inclusive service design and engagement, I shared practical insights on system-level change, lived experience involvement, and neurodivergent-friendly communication.Outcome
My session helped bridge gaps between families and professionals, fostering a sense of shared purpose. The event strengthened collaborative networks, empowered families with resources and strategies, and supported my reputation as an engaging, impactful speaker who translates complexity into inclusive, actionable insight. -

Staff and volunteers in frontline community roles, particularly in third sector organisations, often face emotionally complex situations, including suicide risk, self-harm, and mental health crises. Many feel ill-equipped and overwhelmed when supporting individuals in distress, lacking both the confidence and the tools to respond effectively and safely.Solution
I delivered a two-day Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) course with Govanhill Baths, attended by a range of frontline professionals. Drawing on my expertise as a qualified instructor and her approachable, engaging style, I created a psychologically safe learning space to explore difficult topics like suicide, depression, and stigma. My delivery made the content not only accessible but “fun, stimulating, helpful and inspiring” - as described by participants. I also shared practical resources, such as ALISS (community services directory), DocReady (GP prep tool), and Wellness Action Plans, to empower participants with ongoing support tools.Outcome
Participants left the training feeling significantly more confident in recognising signs of mental distress and in offering immediate, compassionate support. The course reduced stigma, increased knowledge, and enhanced preparedness among staff who are often the first point of contact for those in crisis. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants feeling energised and equipped to make a difference - proof that non-judgmental listening and well-delivered training can truly save lives. -
Challenge
The CEO of a digital transformation consultancy sought support to address challenges around team performance, openness, and communication. The team, diverse in experience, background, and identity, was struggling with cohesion and honest feedback. There was a clear need to foster psychological safety and create a culture where all voices could be heard without fear of judgment or reprisal.Solution
I was asked to help due to my facilitation expertise, HR background, and trusted approach. We began with a 1:1 consultation with leadership to understand the team's dynamics. I then introduced the Fearless Organisation Scan, a globally recognised tool measuring psychological safety across four key dimensions: Willingness to Help, Inclusion & Diversity, Attitude to Risk & Failure, and Open Conversation.
I guided the team through the confidential survey process and conducted individual follow-ups to sensitively explore issues in greater depth. I then facilitated a 4-hour team debrief, presenting anonymised insights and global benchmarks in a safe, structured session that encouraged honest dialogue. We co-created a practical, forward-looking action plan to improve collaboration and psychological safety.Outcome
The intervention significantly improved team cohesion and communication. The structured, yet relaxed facilitation created an environment where sensitive topics could be discussed openly. Team members reported feeling more connected, understood, and empowered to contribute authentically.
Feedback highlighted my ability to make complex topics approachable and to bring both insight and energy to the session:“Lynn was an excellent facilitator, making it easier for us to have tough conversations about our workplace… We left feeling more connected and understood.” — James, Junior Developer
“She brought a real sense of fun to the day and made it a safe space to share.” — Sean, Innovation Manager
“Well-structured, engaging, and gave us useful insights and actions.” — Dan, Tech Lead
The work sparked a culture shift and laid the foundation for long-term improvements in how the team collaborates and communicates.
